Vasubandhu was ordained as a monk in the sarvāstivāda 說一切有部 tradition and wrote the widely referenced 阿毘達磨俱舍論 Abhidharmakośabhāṣya 'Discourse on the Repository of Abhidharma Discussions'. He later composed important works in the 瑜伽宗 Yogācāra tradition (BL 'Vasubandhu'; FGDB '世親').
